The Sisters Of Mercy

Another gig not to forget. It has been their most successful year and their Vision Thing tour. Everybody adored Mr. Eldritch, still I found it so awkward these days that in a totally dark ambience, he wore black sunglasses all the time.

As far as I can remember, this gig has been moved from Kurhalle Oberlaa to Stadthalle (I might be wrong).

We are quite near to the stage, but not for a long time. As soon as "First And Last And Always" opens the gig, the gothic fans turned the scene into turmoil. No chance to survive close to the stage. So some 10 meters of retreat, still decent.

The performance is flawless, and you can sense the inspiration and the energy that band had in these times. I still remember the guitarist to be very good. As mentioned, Mr. Eldritch wears sunglasses all the time and permanently smokes cigarettes. His rather cool stage performance is very refreshing during these times, in which everybody assumed that only jumping around makes a gig interesting.
