A Word

***Wacken 2018 - view from the Jägermeister Deer

Live gigs are essential. Remembering them is sometimes even more fun (but writing tedious ;-). Short stories about great gigs - and the others as well. This is strictly non-commercial and just my humble taste/opinion.

Marilyn Manson II (sort of)

Location: Wiener Stadthalle, 1150 Vienna, Austria
That is no longer the Marilyn Manson from the Antichrist Superstar days. That's more of a Hollywood show. This is not entirely bad news, the songs are still good and live from Mr. Manson's distinctive voice. But it's no longer raw power, it's much more show.

Buddies: Tom (Sabine and Michael were there as well)
Score: 3 out of 5

Merchandize: Tour T- Shirt
Another Gig? rather not

To my own astonishment, I do not remember the support act (Tom, any idea?). The following break to M.M. takes endlessly, and so do the breaks between most of his songs. So much stage action, special effects, strange stage equipment all around - too much for me. M.M. dressed up differently from song to song - are we in a f***ing musical show? Looks like a bit, in M.M. style. Not that bad, but certainly not what I am here for - his music. And that's basically why I was not so much into that gig. To little music, too much show. And his songs are, in overall, very good and worth visiting. But the young crowd (believe me, very very young), they seem to like that show. So be it.
At least merch was a success - a very decent M.M. shirt with just two red Ms in front. Niiiice :-)
