A Word

***Wacken 2018 - view from the Jägermeister Deer

Live gigs are essential. Remembering them is sometimes even more fun (but writing tedious ;-). Short stories about great gigs - and the others as well. This is strictly non-commercial and just my humble taste/opinion.

03 October 2010

Adam Rogers Trio

Location: Konzerthaus Wien, Lothringerstraße 20, 1030 Vienna, Austria
A fabulous jazz guitarist with his ES-335 and two Fender Blackface Amps, joined by a bassist and a drummer. Nothing can go wrong here.

Buddies: Jakob
Score: 4 out of 5
Another gig: Absolutely!

And as expected, it is one of these gigs that, after some time, takes you out of the cellar of Konzerthaus. The mellow sound of a jazz guitar, no hurry, no thrills, just letting the themes develop. It's an entirely different experience to the high volume gigs I otherwise use to go to. But something I can recommend to everybody that would once like to sink into the endless layers that only jazz music is capable to exhibit. It is my first jazz guitar gig, and I immediately fell into it. It will certainly not be my last one. For sure.
