A Word

***Wacken 2018 - view from the Jägermeister Deer

Live gigs are essential. Remembering them is sometimes even more fun (but writing tedious ;-). Short stories about great gigs - and the others as well. This is strictly non-commercial and just my humble taste/opinion.

Frontline Assembly and others

Location: Szene Wien, Hauffgasse 26, 1110 Vienna, Austria
Another must-see gig of one of my favourite bands of the 90-ies, and Szene would be a perfect location for an industrial metal gig. Unfortunately, nothing turned out as it should be.

Buddy: Harald (thanks for joining, bro :)
Score: 2,5 out of 5
Merchandize: FLA t-shirt 'Tactical Neuro Implant'
Another gig? No

If Szene Wien is half empty, then even the best concert on paper will turn sour - and that is the case today. During the performances of the special guests, nearly nobody is at the stage. Then come Frontline Assembly, perfect sound, good beginning, very good guitar work - but no vibes from the crowd. We stand in the very first row with sufficient space around us, and the spark does not ignite. The band realizes that very fast and is highly de-motivated, which is to a certain extent understandable. But then the shock: After not more than one hour, the band leaves the stage, some digital music follows, then it's over! No encore, no real good-bye, nothing. A rather depressing end - and frankly speaking not very professional.
